The Essoyes School
“A new school dedicated to old ideas…”
The Essoyes School (pronounced ESS-wah) is named for the beautiful little village in the Champagne region of France, two and a half hours southeast of Paris, in which we offer our some of our classes and workshops.
There is no Essoyes School building–though there is a building in Essoyes in which we offer classes–and our classes are not limited to any particular country or discipline. Since 2008 we have offered small-group writing workshops in Essoyes in the spring and fall. In the summer of 2010 we ran our first drawing workshop in Essoyes, and our Skychaser workshops–centered in but not limited to the visual arts–are under development.
Individual writer and/or artist retreats, with or without coaching assistance, can also be arranged.
You can get a sense of our approach to travel and literature and the relationship between the two; learn what we mean by “writing from the heart;” and find out more about Essoyes by browsing the articles on this blog.
